Guess it was also partly due to my being in the army at that time, facing all that issues within me & struggling with loneliness in army and church. So, I wasn't exactly in the "friends are friends forever" kinda mood huh? Hahaa.
So there I was 2 nights ago, just casually adding in some peeps from church and was just searching around. 1 thing led to another. It started with a vaguely familiar face or sounding name. Another led to another. And before I know it, I found more than a couple!Mann...the friends from primary/secondary school have been hanging around all this while. Really brings back memories seeing their photos and hearing from them.
Heh, really interesting seeing how much they've all grown and changed. It got me thinking...how much have I changed over the years? Besides the looks... (gotten cooler man hehe...OOPS =X..okok say say only what..let me shiok abit lah =D)
.....what are the characters and mindsets that have been changed and formed along the way? What have I managed to retain within me? Is there still something within me that my friends of old can identify and find familiar with?
Ahhh...thank God for the opportunity to see them again. Indeed, when you feel something of old from deep inside you resurface & bubbling out as you look at their photos, it's true joy and satisfaction indeed from a simple pleasure He created as relationships and friendships.
[Friends] - Michael W. Smith
Packing up the dreams God planted
In the fertile soil of you
Can’t believe the hopes he’s granted
Means a chapter in your life is through
But we’ll keep you close as always
It won’t even seem you’ve gone
’cause our hearts in big and small ways
Will keep the love that keeps us strong
Chorus:
And friends are friends forever
If the lord’s the lord of them
And a friend will not say never
’cause the welcome will not end
Though it’s hard to let you go
In the father’s hands we know
That a lifetime’s not too long to live as friends.
With the faith and love god’s given
Springing from the hope we know
We will pray the joy you’ll live in
Is the strength that now you show
But we’ll keep you close as always
It won’t even seem you’ve gone
’cause our hearts in big and small ways
Will keep the love that keeps us strong
