Lunched alone today again man. Went to Clarke Quay again. Mmmmm...the place was really quiet today. Not the kind of sian, boring quiet in the office...but, peaceful quiet. =) With a drink in hand, looking at the calm waters, people having lunch outdoors, boats moving around, city buildings in the background...it felt so refreshing and rejuvenating.
Went to Mount Zion at the mrt walkway after that. Hmm....they were playing the song 'With All I Am' in the shop.
As I was stoning, listening to the song...I kinda unconciously picked out a book. Funny...didn't even know what book it was, my finger just kinda stopped at it and picked it out. After realising I picked out a book...took a look....
Hmm....the summary at the back of the book kinda caught my attention somehow....
"Pastor Jim Cymbala calls us back to a fiery , passionate preoccupation with God that will restore what the enemy has stolen from us: our first love for Jesus, our zeal, our troubled children, our wounded marriages, our broken and divided churches."
"you hold my world, in the palm of your hand, and I'm yours forever...." [shop's background song]
So I casually flipped the book.
"GRACE THAT IS GREATER"
The chapter heading stared at my face at my random flip. My heart skipped a beat...so I started reading it....
"I'll walk with you, wherever you go, through tears and joy, I'll trust in you..." [shop's background song]
...it spoke to me. Both the song and the book as I read it...seems that there's something for me in that book. Really enjoyed that time frame of 5 minutes browsing the book...it sort of....ministered. So bought the book. =)
Almost felt like I've just been through a service....grace in the mundane indeed...
"you're the reason that I live, the reason that I sing, with all I am" [shop's background song]
...the song ended as I left the shop.
