Went to town with my army friend on thursday. Heh, just wanted to spend some time before he enters the police force. Know what this means? Don't mess with me (or my hair) in future...cause I got policeman friend!! =D
On the way, we were just talking about some army days stuff...somehow it came to the topic of the famous granny ghost story of tekong. From there, it kinda led to talking about ghosts and spirits, christianity and denominations and all that stuff. All the way from journey to dinner at Parkmall's Hans.
Mmmm....cool. Haven't had such talks for a pretty long time.
After dinner, popped over to the new Cathay Cineplex for the movie, Cars. Ooh on the way, came across this band playing....cuban music i suppose. Sounds pretty good! Would have stayed on to listen more if not for the movie.
The newly renovated place is pretty cool I'd say, though 90% of the shops aren't open yet with paint smell around. But it sure looks like it's gonna be 1 crowded place in time to come. The cinema is cool, with animated tv menus, full meal food besides the usual popcorn stuff, and best of all giant movie boards/posters! The seat's pretty comfy.
For the movie Cars? Well well, it was better than expected. Wasn't really expecting much cause from the trailers, it didn't seem much....i mean...talking cars...certainly not as interesting a prospect as Incredibles,Finding Nemo & others.
Not as emotional as nemo, storyline's not too complex, but hey...everything came together pretty nicely. Pretty good themes and issues running throughout the movie, like what have we been neglecting in the midst of chasing after all the fad and charms of the world around us. What is of true value and meaning in the things we give and put ourselves to. What is really important, and worth sacrificing?
Yep...a good solid 2 hours of entertainment. I guess it was the funny and memorable characters that you'll come to like and how they parallel some of our famous people and situations that makes it enjoyable.
So yeah...it's the usual pixar product...which is GOOD. And oh yeah, stay for the credits =D
On the way out of the place after the cinema...I saw what I've finally been waiting for ages....
Ahhhhh Superman Returns!! Ok...you may think I'm being funny again. But hor..hey, he's DA MAN I grew up watching leh. Spiderman, Batman, Xmen, Ultraman, Pacman... move aside! He's my favourite superhero hehe.
I don't know...probably cause he's the first person (ok, i mean comic character) to make me feel that....I need and want a superhero in my life. Someone stronger, faster and wiser than I am...that there's nothing wrong to be in need of someone to save you, to count upon in times of need, to stand for me when I'm desperately on my knees.
Well, now there is One in my life =)
But Mr Supes is still the nostalgic reason for me to love =D
I still remember the time where superman died battling doomsday when I was still a kid...man...it was even reported on our Ch 8 10pm news k? Heh...and I quickly rushed out to buy the comic issue where he died...sad leh...
Look up in the sky.....after an absence of 17 years, the return of Superman is immenent! Who's interested to watch it with me, at IMAX theatre?
=D
