Taking the oft-heard passage of Joseph's rite of passage through the valley of testing. From his father's favourtism of him over his brothers amd their jealousy, his rejection, imprisonment, accusations....what would have been our prayers in his situation?
Honestly...Steven's honest suggestion of prayer requests for Joseph....wasn't too far off from the ones I had in mind.
I guess often, we're so caught up with the feeling of senselessness for the valleys that come along the way...it seems right to just continue in our utterances of despair and destitution.
But what if some of them are necessary?
Just like the enemies that gave pursuit after David. Or Moses' years of daily dealing with the sands of the desert and predators of his sheep.
Maybe...so that we could see His heart.
Maybe..so that He would be glorified.
Maybe..so that we would be moulded and prepared.
Maybe..so that He could fulfill the plan He has for us in His salvation story.
Maybe...it's not that senseless afterall...?

And for those times when the time and effort given seems senseless...here's a little something from the youths...that really helps...
Really sweet of them.
A big thank you to you guys and gals out there...for the work and words given. Really appreciated from the bottom of my heart. May we continue to mould remind each other of the likeness of Christ, in our opening of hearts, and sharing of lives.
And yes, she's stepped down. For all the efforts, pain, joy and lessons along the way, may it serve to help you cling on to the one true Vine, growing and remaining in Him wherever you may be.

[Find Us Faithful] - Steve Green
We're pilgrims on the journey
Of the narrow road
And those who've gone before us line the way
Cheering on the faithful, encouraging the weary
Their lives a stirring testament to God's sustaining grace
Surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses
Let us run the race not only for the prize
But as those who've gone before us
Let us leave to those behind us
The heritage of faithfulness
Passed on through godly lives
Oh may all who come behind us find us faithful
May the fire of our devotion light their way
May the footprints that we leave
Lead them to believe
And the lives we live inspire them to obey
Oh may all who come behind us find us faithful
After all our hopes and dreams have come and gone
And our children sift through all we've left behind
May the clues that they discover
And the memories they uncover
Become the light that leads them
To the road we each must find
Oh may all who come behind us find us faithful
Oh may all who come behind us find us faithful
