"God saw all that he had made, and it was very good."
Genesis 1:31
'Good' has been marginalised in our society. To many, it is not enough just to be good. They say you need to be better, than something/someone else. Be the best, at the top of the pinnacle.
Not many would consider, a publicly ridiculed death at 33 on a wooden cross, to be a good ending for a life.
A really strange choice then, for One, who probably knows more about what is good than you and I. Infact, He is the very epitome of goodness itself. I would suppose, Jesus as a carpenter, knows when his works and crafts are good enough, the point where no further corrections need be done on the wooden craft, and is ready to be sold. The point where it is finished.
Good results, good achievements, good fortune, good riddance....we've all had our fair share of these, and we know that even at their best, how short and temporal they can be.
Can I learn to better appreciate, this good that You have done for an eternity of goodness?
Good friday.
A love that took you out, so that we might be taken in.
"..he said, "It is finished," and he bowed his head and gave up his spirit."
John 19:30

[When Love Takes You In] - Steven Curtis Chapman
I know you’ve heard the stories
But they all sound too good to be true
You’ve heard about a place called home
But there doesn’t seem to be one for you
So one more night you cry yourself to sleep
And drift off to a distant dream
Where love takes you in and everything changes
A miracle starts with the beat of a heart
When love takes you home and says you belong here
The loneliness ends and a new life begins
When love takes you in
And somewhere while you’re sleeping
Someone else is dreaming too
Counting down the days until
They hold you close and say I love you
And like the rain that falls into the sea
In a moment what has been is lost in what will be
When love takes you in everything changes
A miracle starts with the beat of a heart
And this love will never let you go
There is nothing that could ever
cause this love to lose its hold
When love takes you in everything changes
A miracle starts with the beat of a heart
When love takes you home and says you belong here
The loneliness ends and a new life begins
When love takes you in it takes you in for good
When love takes you in
for the painful steps taken up to the cross at Calvary,
thank You.
thank You.
