It never fails to amaze me how time flies.
Has it really been 8 months since I took up the contract job? What a time it has been. Though the contract has been extended again and again from the originally slated 4 months, I'm not really complaining.
The experience and friendships gained, things obeserved and learnt, they're really worth it.
From the beginning of how the job offer came as a surprise 'lobang' by an army friend, to the interview stages, the trusting and understanding colleagues, the protection and covering along the way.....it has really been more than what I could have asked for. Really.
It has also been a time of exposure for me, seeing how certain things go on within offices, the ugly side of politics and rank plays, the reality of the struggle some of my christian colleagues went through....it gets weary and discouraging at times...even by just watching from the sidelines.
But through it, it did bring about moments of opening up among the colleagues (usually starting with laments heh), and the opportunity to share around. Eye opening, mind filling, heart questioning it is.
On my last day of work, someone else apparently wanted to give me a treat (or accidentally actually). My colleagues brought me to Olio cafe for a lunch treat. There was this new guy who was kinda blur. We thought his blurness stopped at bringing wrong orders for us, but when we got back and took a look at the receipt....
Heh, 'Lunch set' was what I ordered..and from the price of $10, it was wrongly keyed in as 10 cents by that guy! Woohoo...a 10 cents set lunch treat from him! Hmm....it was too late to do anything about it....oh well. :D
Too bad, couldn't manage to join them to celebrate one of my colleague's birthday. But guess I'll still be seeing them....if not for some meetup over a meal, there's still that trip down to KL I have to make in April.
So here's to my colleauges, for all the ropes and care shown throughout these few months, it's been a blessing.
So till we meet again....here's some snaps. =)
